IT'S FRIDAY IT'S FRIDAY IT'S FRIDAY! That means the weekend is here,
which means more time to play video games! Here's what some of the GI
staff have planned for their weekend gaming. Let us know your plans in
the comments.
Remember last month? Remember how very few worthwhile games were
released? Well, if you needed a reminder, all you need to do is look
over the depressing numbers coming out of this month's NPD sales data.
Last week a blog appeared accusing Crysis developer Crytek of poor
working conditions and a "hire and fire" mentality. Earlier this week,
Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli responded to these claims.
On this episode of Reiner and Phil, Reiner sweeps me away for a romantic
tropical vacation that is quickly interrupted by hordes of zombies and a
whole bunch of deaths.
Did you know that Cave Story+, an enhanced version of the Wii port of
Cave Story, is headed to the Mac App Store? Me neither, but apparently
it's already available now!
Along with this morning's news
of a release month and new multiplayer modes for Max Payne 3, Rockstar
also announced that the original Max Payne game will be coming to mobile
devices.
Following in the vein of classics such as last year's
Call of Duty: Black Ops unboxing, rap artist and original gamer Ice T
has posted an awesome Gears of War 3 special edition unboxing video.
Last night on the Steam forums, a Dead Island player revealed that he'd discovered a shockingly offensive skill name when digging through the game's code.
Legendary game creator Eiji Aonuma has been producing and directing
Zelda ever since the N64 classic Ocarina of Time. Despite this pedigree,
would you believe that he never much cared for the game that kicked off
the whole series? It's true.
Remember that super-expensive Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Collector's Edition that was announced last month? It would take an awfully large box to contain all of that awesome bonus stuff, right? Yep, you're looking at it.
Still not convinced by this summer's rumors
that Capcom is putting together a Devil May Cry HD collection? Perhaps
the latest rating from the ESRB will help change your mind.
This
year at E3, I discovered what has quickly become my favorite word game,
and it's now finally available on iPhone and iPad and coming to other
downloadable services soon.
