Weekend Warrior 09/09/11

IT'S FRIDAY IT'S FRIDAY IT'S FRIDAY! That means the weekend is here, which means more time to play video games! Here's what some of the GI staff have planned for their weekend gaming. Let us know your plans in the comments.
Jeff Marchiafava: This weekend I plan to play more Dead Island with my co-workers. Also, in the event that Jeff Cork manages to beat my Ms. 'Splosion Man score in Pinball FX 2, I will probably spend more time trying to best him once again, because I’m a real jerk like that.
Jeff Cork: I’ve got a pretty busy weekend planned, which means I won’t have much time for gaming. Rats. I’ll still try to sneak in some Dead Island co-op time, and maybe a game or two of the Ms. ‘Splosion Man table on Pinball FX 2. Other than that, I’ll spend most of the next few days putting stuff into boxes. Blah.
Matt Bertz: It's the time of the year where options outweigh the time I have to play said options. I still need to play Infamous 2, Crimson Alliance, and Dead Island, but for now I'm going to keep on augmenting my way through Deus Ex: Human Revolution. With the NFL finally returning in full force on Sunday, video games will take a backseat to watching my beloved Vikings kick off what's likely to be their last season in Minnesota. My faith in this state's politicians to get the team a new stadium? Zero.
Phil Kollar: I did a metric ton of gaming last weekend, and I loved it so much that I'm going to go ahead and do it again this weekend. I'll probably continue my slow progress through Alice: Madness Returns, though I've quickly fallen out of love with that game in its rough second chapter. I also grabbed a copy of Dead Island from the office, so I'm hoping to jump into that, maybe even get some co-op going with some of my co-workers. Then again, I'm also going to be spending a lot of time doing work this weekend -- I'll be keeping you readers entertained as the weekend news lead, and I'm taking home a review game that I'm excited for but can't talk about. Let's just say I plan to die a lot in this game....
Bryan Vore: Since I've been traveling a bunch lately, I've been working away at The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Mario's Picross. I just finished the fire temple and am about to start the treacherous water temple that everyone hates. I've never played through the whole game before so this is all new to me. Wish me luck! As far as Picross goes, I just can't stop playing it. And I recently heard that you can toggle Gameboy games back and forth between black and white and the lovably ugly classic green screen on 3DS so I've been doing that a bunch. If this is news to you, just press the L and R shoulder buttons and hit Y at anytime during a Gameboy game to toggle it back and forth.
Tim Turi: This weekend I’ll be diving back into Dead Island. I just can’t keep my hands off the infected of Banoi. I also hope to start Resistance 3 at some point. I’ll also be departing for Tokyo with Dan Ryckert. For the flight I’ve brought Okamiden, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. That should hold me over, hopefully. Oh yeah, and co-op Contra 4 with Dan.
Dan Ryckert: Going to Japan. Bye.
Jeff Akervik: Finally got my first taste of Dead Island last night and I must say I'm intrigued. So I'm hoping to put some more time into the zombie apocalypse to determine whether it's worth my time or not. I'm hoping it is. Otherwise, I'll keep plugging away on Ocarina of Time 3D. Collecting those stupid Big Poes seemingly becomes more and more of a pain every time I play this game. How is that? Oh well.... Go Vikings.
Matthew Kato: Have a lot of prospective gaming going on this weekend. I'm currently reviewing both soccer games (FIFA 12 and Pro Evo 12), Codemasters' F1 title, and I've also got a copy of NHL 12 at home as well. However, I actually thought of playing Joe Danger for some reason. I've started it, but haven't gotten very far. Perhaps the real question will be whether I can resist playing Madden this weekend due to my severe reservations with the game. With the NFL season starting, I may be tempted.
That's it for us! What are you playing this weekend?
