DICE Dusts Off Nearly Finished Genesis Game
Old-school gamers got a special treat at last month’s Datastorm event, held in Sweden. DICE brought in a copy of its nearly completed Genesis game, Hardcore. According to DICE’s co-founders, Andreas Axelsson and Olof Gustafsson, the game started off its life 1991 as an Amiga game before it shifted over to the Genesis (known as the Mega Drive outside of North America). According to DICE, the game was 99 percent complete, with only a single bug remaining before Psygnosis canceled it and 13 other games in 1994. The rights to the game are still in limbo, but players who like what they see here can take solace in the fact that DICE is “working on that.”
