Ubisoft said today that estimated sales for Assassin's Creed III in the
first week totaled 3.5 million units sold. This represents a 100 percent
year-over-year increase from the previous title, the publisher said.
Microsoft may soon be entering the mobile gaming space by releasing its
own 7-inch tablet. According to a report today from The Verge, Microsoft
is prepping Xbox Surface, a tablet designed specifically for gaming.
Halo 4's executive producer and impossibly cool last name owner Kiki Wolfkill said that taking Halo into genres outside of the first-person shooter is entirely possible.
THQ said today that overall sales of Darksiders II fell below
expectations for the quarter. The game, which released in August, has
shipped 1.4 million since the end of September 2012.
THQ announced South Park: The Stick of Truth has been delayed. The game
was originally scheduled for release on March 5, 2013. The game has been
pushed to May 2013.
BioWare confirmed Mass Effect 3 for Wii U contains an interactive back story for both Mass Effect 1 and 2. A number of download content is also available on the disc.
EA said today users can play the original Battlefield 1942 on PC through
Origin today. The announcement was made after Battlefield 3 Premium
surpassing 2 million members worldwide since June.
Nintendo said today more than 5,000 Wii U kiosks roll out at select retail stores across the United States. The stores include Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and Toys ‘R’ Us.
