Wasteland 2
Sure, being an a-hole is popular now thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy, but Peter Quill isn’t the only jerk in the nerd-o-sphere. Wasteland 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 1988 PC game, will give you the chance to shape your Rangers in your image (even if you don’t happen to be very nice).
A new video shows off the game’s combat, which will look familiar to anyone who’s played a tactical RPG like Fallout (or the original Wasteland). You can name your Rangers and enter a backstory into their information screens.
Sorry, this video is not available
For those that don’t want to go through the character creation process, pre-made Rangers are available to choose from (but what’s the fun in that?). You’ll also be able to recruit people from the wasteland to assist you. Specifically mentioned? Doctors, hobos, and a robot. Sounds like a post-apocalyptic Village People cover band.
Wasteland 2, which was the product of a nearly $3 million crowdfunding campaign, will be out on September 19. You can read more in our most recent preview from Gamescom.
