See The Game In Action Via First Gameplay Trailer

Developer inXile Entertainment has released the first gameplay video of its upcoming RPG Torment: Tides of Numenera. The new trailer includes three minutes of pre-alpha footage, including glimpses of its conversation system, exploration, and more.

The video is set in the Bloom, a creepy environment based on Monte Cook's Numenera setting. It's a city built around a massive parasite, and you can see the creature work its magic in one particularly bizarre moment. The game's dialogue gets a significant chunk of the video, highlighting the voice acting and myriad branching directions that conversations can take. As the end of the clip says, Tides of Numenera is almost a response to criticisms that gamers don't like to read, and that the PC RPG is dead.
