Soma Trailer Offers An Eerie Exploration Of Humanity

What happened at the underwater facility PATHOS-II? How did you get there? And are its inhabitants robotic, human, or some kind of bizarre half step between the two? A new trailer from Frictional Games' Soma poses these questions, and may cause you to ask a few yourself.

The eerie setting might make it look like a typical horror game, but it's lined with a heavy dose of existentialism. It seems as though Frictional is working to create something that sticks with players long after the credits roll, in a way that jump scares alone don't often do. Take a look at the trailer below to get a taste of what we mean.

Soma is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC next week, on Sept. 22.
