Activision has high hopes for its upcoming Spyro reboot, which puts an added toy element onto the kid-friendly game. Players will be able to purchase little character figurines, which can then be placed on a connected portal device. From there, those characters are then transferred into the game where they become playable.
The clip below isn't heavy on gameplay, but it does show kids slamming they toys down onto the electronic bases with true TV commercial enthusiasm. The game launches this October 16 for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, PC, Mac, and mobile devices. Parents on a budget will soon have another reason to push their kid-filled carts past the toy aisle in record time.
