Game audio is one of those things that can either hurt or help a game's atmosphere, though it's rarely given an extended moment in the spotlight. A new developer diary from inXile's Hunted: The Demon's Forge gives that aspect of development at least a little bit of the attention it so rightly deserves.
After watching the video below, you'll get a sense of what the team was looking for from the game's score, and learn how the game doesn't draw any sounds from stock effects libraries. You'll also learn how they made the sounds of arrows in flight and get a killer recipe for a death-rattle sound—though it's definitely not something that you want to ingest.
