MercurySteam Opening Up Rewards System To All Raiders Players
MercurySteam's sci-fi shooter Raiders of the Broken Planet may be split into five campaigns – including a prologue that players can download and play at no cost – but the game is being updated with unity in mind. Previously, if you downloaded the prologue you couldn't use your earned currency to unlock new characters, weapons, or other items. That's changing.
The update lets players unlock three new characters: Mikah, Dr. Kuzmann, and Ginebra, which were previously only playable if you purchased the Alien Myths campaign or the game's founders pack. Sniper Shae remains exclusive to that campaign, however. MercurySteam says the decision was driven in part by the desire to ensure that the game remains challenging and interesting for both players who want to experience the prologue as well as those who decide to put money into the game.
