Holy Plort! Slime Rancher Has Sold More Than 1 Million Copies

by Jeff Cork on Aug 17, 2017 at 04:25 PM

Slime Rancher is a charming game that combines exploration, monster collecting, and systems optimization in an adorable wrapper. While the game is currently a solo experience, players who have been enjoying Monomi Park's game certainly aren't alone.

According to the developer, the game, which started out in early access but was officially released August 1, has passed an impressive sales milestone.

The game is currently an August selection for Microsoft's Games With Gold promotion, but that one-million number doesn't factor that in. Answering a follow-up question on Twitter, it's been downloaded more than 3.5 million times on the Xbox One.

Congrats, all!

Our Take
I've been playing the game since Joe took me on a tour of his farm, and it's been a lot of fun. It's relaxing, but it also pushes me to find the most efficient ways of filling my days on my space farm. And on Xbox One, you can't beat the price right now.
