Free November Rocket League Update Adds Mutators To The Mix

by Jeff Cork on Oct 28, 2015 at 05:36 AM

Psyonix is bringing a host of new Mutators to Rocket League next month in a free update. The download will allow players to tweak a variety of in-game parameters, including the size, shape and weight of the ball; gravitational effects; and more.

Want a cube-shaped ball? Have at it. Prefer a ball that dwarfs the cars? Knock yourself out. Maybe you'd like to play games that put respawns on a timer or have score caps. These are just a few of the things you can manipulate after the November update. A month later, a new free game variant is coming that's inspired by hockey. Take a look at that and the rest of the Mutators in the clip below.

Psyonix will be livestreaming the new update on Twitch tomorrow, October 29, at 2 p.m. Pacific on its official channel.

Our Take
I loved the game in its original form, and I can't wait to see how these modifications end up changing the feel of the game. If nothing else, there's something fundamentally exciting about playing a sport that features explosions on the field.
