Here's Why Everything You Think You Know About Silencers In Games Is Wrong
Any shooter fan recognizes the silencer: screw it onto the end of your firearm and it's practically inaudible. But as YouTube user RagnarRox shows us in his latest video, there's a lot of real-world evidence weighing against that iconic "pyoo" you hear when taking down bad guys in Splinter Cell and Metal Gear.
RagnarRox pulls from real-world firearms technology in his case against game silencers, citing weapons known for both stealthy and boisterous qualities. As he says in the video below, suppressors tend to diminish a few of the sources of gun noise, and that the completely silent guns used by Sam Fisher and Agent 47 currently don't exist.
RagnarRox isn't making a case against silencers appearing in games (quite the opposite). Rather, this should help separate fact from fantasy.
