Capcom Files New Darkstalkers Trademark

Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom have been enjoying a resurgence over the past few years, and Capcom's horror-themed fighter could be rising from its crypt as well. The publisher has filed a new trademark for Darkstalkers.

Siliconera pointed out the filing, which was recently made by Capcom Japan. Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono has been talking enthusiastically for years about bringing back Darkstalkers. Back in 2010, he said that then-Capcom development head Keiji Inafune might greenlight a new game if enough people expressed interest in seeing it again. Perhaps Capcom will have something a bit more official to announce in the coming weeks.

If you're not familiar with the series, Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors was released as a PSOne Classic on the PlayStation 3 back in November, so you can get some homework done on contemporary hardware.
