VentureBeat Buys Bitmob

Gaming website Bitmob.com has been acquired by technology reporter VentureBeat.com.

VentureBeat already has video game coverage on its site with GamesBeat, but Bitmob and its members are coming in to expand that section of the website. In the future and thanks to this partnership, VentureBeat will have a much stronger emphasis on video games and video game news.

Bitmob is run by and was co-founded by former Electronic Gaming Monthly and 1up.com editor in chief Dan "Shoe" Hsu. In a blog post on Bitmob, Hsu said that little would change technically for the website, but opportunities would expand significantly for the community members of the site, of whom contribute to much of the websites content.
