Call of Duty Elite For PC In Limbo [Update]
Activision may not be releasing Call of Duty Elite for PC after all.
Originally scheduled to launch alongside the console versions with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the PC version of Elite was delayed indefinitely with the publisher citing technical issues. Now it might not even happen at all.
"We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC," Activision said in a statement today through Twitter.
Elite’s launch has been off to a rocky start. Console owners have been experiencing problems logging in and even registering their account. Activision later extended premium memberships by an additional 30 days at no charge.
Game Informer has followed up with Activision for additional information.
[Update] Activision spokesperson tells Game Informer the Twitter post this morning was a mistake and that the PC version is still coming.
"Point of clarification, as we misspoke. The goal has always been to provide a PC offering for Elite. The timing for that free offering is still being determined, so stay tuned for news on that."
