Android Version Of Minecraft Will Be On Xperia Play Phones First

We had heard earlier this year that surprise hit PC title Minecraft will be available on iOS devices later this year, but it's also coming to Android...and it'll be on Sony Ericsson's PlayStation-influenced Xperia Play phones before anything else.

Gamasutra reports that developer Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft will be playable on Xperia Play devices before it is running on any other iOS or Android systems. Unsurprisingly, the game will not be exactly the same as it is on PC, but Mojang suggests that tweaks will be relatively minor.

A Minecraft event showing of the Xperia Play version of the game is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, the first day of E3, so look for more news and first impressions then.
