Hacked Kinect Lets You Play With Lightsabers

We may have to wait until 2011 to play a legit Star Wars game using Microsoft's Kinect technology, but one talented hacker has already made a lightsaber sim on the device.

YouTube user Yankeyan shows off his Kinect mod in the video below. He has the device hooked up to his PC and is using a wooden stick as a stand-in for the lightsaber. The program pulls in his motions realistically and replaces the stick with lightsaber visuals and noises. Check it out:
