Kinect’s Star Wars Game Coming Out In 2011

by Jeff Cork on Nov 10, 2010 at 02:51 AM

During Kinect’s coming-out event just before E3 2010, a sizzle trailer showed off some of the games that would support the new device. Among them was a brief sequence showing off a Jedi taking on Stormtroopers by repelling their blaster bolts before engaging in a one-on-one lightsaber duel with Darth Vader himself. While the majority of the other games highlighted that night are now on store shelves, there hasn’t been much news on the Star Wars front.

Speaking to the BBC, Kinect’s creative director Kudo Tsunoda brought up the game when asked what’s ahead for the device in 2011.

“I think you could just easily imagine being a Jedi and using Kinect to make you feel you're part of a Star Wars experience, building yourself up into a Jedi,” he said, saying that the game would be out for the next holiday season.

Tsunoda added that a new Forza game would also be out in 2011. That game was briefly shown during Microsoft’s keynote speech, in a demonstration that had Turn 10 Studios’ Dan Greenawalt walking around a virtual car and checking its tires by crouching.
