Pikmin For Wii Still Being Worked On

Back at E3 a couple of years ago, fans of Nintendo's quirky strategy game Pikmin got a great burst of hype when Miyamoto let slip in a Q&A session that a new Pikmin game was in development for Wii. Today at the same yearly Q&A session, Miyamoto assured us that the game is still in the works despite a complete lack of new info.

The question came from Wired's Chris Kohler. Miyamoto laughed upon hearing it and seemed a little exasperated, explaining that he had made an offhand comment about the game, and fan's expectations blew up.

Despite his weariness, Miyamoto said that the game is still in the works. Nintendo chose not to show it this year for fear that it would be overshadowed by the huge number of new game announcements they had and the 3DS hardware.

Miyamoto jokingly finished his response by giving a request to writers in the audience: "Please don't make this the top story this evening." Well...technically it's not the top story...so we're still cool, right?
