BioWare Denies 360 Release For The Old Republic
A BioWare spokesperson quickly denounced a leaked memo from UK video game retailer GAME that listed the developer's upcoming Star Wars MMO, The Old Republic, as coming out for Xbox 360 in 2011.
"While we recognize that there are other operating systems and platforms available for games today, our development is specific to the personal computer using the Windows operating system at this time," said community rep Sean Dahlgren in a post on the BioWare forums. "As to why The Old Republic is on that list, we have no idea but to allay any confusion, we should not be on there."
Publishers EA and LucasArts are no doubt looking to recoup the historic investment that has gone into The Old Republic's development, but many hurdles remain for the console MMO we've been waiting for.
