Weekend Warrior 02/19/10
This weekend most of the staff will tie up some loose ends in BioShock 2 and Mass Effect 2. I've taken all of their pretty words detailing weekend plans and posted them below. Read on to find out what else we're playing, then head over to the comments section and jot down your weekend gaming plans.
Joe: I haven't decided if I'm going to go with something new or something familiar this weekend. On one hand, I have an unplayed copy of BioShock 2 that I've been dying to dig into. On the other hand, I'm knee-deep in my second Mass Effect 2 playthrough (going for the Insanity achievement), so I may not be able to resist the temptation to pick that up again. Also, a friend and I are going to continue our years-long effort to complete Earth Defense Force 2017 on every difficulty. EDF! EDF!
Meagan: This weekend I am going to play games. Lots of them. That's the plan at least. I have friends stopping by at some point and I will more than likely spend the bulk of Saturday cleaning my house to avoid embarrassment. Somehow coffee grounds ended up all over my bathroom and have yet to be cleaned. (Making Silent Hill Munnys is dirty work.) Since I've been traveling, (see: unintentionally ignoring my husband) I plan on putting in some major co-op time by downloading the new RE5 Gold DLC and gaining more headway into Army of Two: TFD. Being married to a gamer is great because playing games constitutes as a date in our book!
Dan: I have a few friends coming up from Kansas City this weekend, so I'll be taking them around and generally prolonging my two-week slump in the GI weight loss competition. Smashburger is coming to KC in a couple months, so I figure I have to take them there to see what they can look forward to. Trying to think of a good local multiplayer game to check out while they're here. I've heard that Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is pretty mediocre, but I might still give it a shot.
Annette: I'm headed to Japan Sunday so most of my weekend will be made up of errands leading up to the trip. Still, I plan on finally finishing up BioShock 2 single-player before I leave. Any other gaming will happen on my PSP during the 13-hour flight. I haven't decided what I want to play yet, I'll probably have to browse the vault. Recommendations?
Jeff A: Annette wanted pretty words so how's this for pretty: Team USA vs. Canada, Sunday, Vancouver. Bring it Crosby. Other than that, a little Phantom Hourglass and BioShock 2 should do the trick. Gotta get it on...
Tim: This weekend I'm going to finish up BioShock 2. I've loved my time with the game, and have spent as much time enjoying the game as I have pondering why it's received such a lackluster response. I'm digging BioShock 2 more that the original. True bliss is setting a Splicer on fire only to charge him with a freeze-drill. Genius. After that I'll try multiplayer, then plug away at Chrono Trigger DS and start cracking on Heavy Rain, hopefully.
Jeff M: I've been playing a certain unnameable game for review the past couple of days, which will be coming home with me this weekend as well. When I'm not playing that, I will be working my way through Mass Effect 2, trying not to completely screw up the galaxy with every choice I'm tasked with making.
That's it for us. What are you playing this weekend?
