D3Publisher Working On Games Based On Upcoming Animated Film "Despicable Me"
D3Publisher announced today that the company has inked a deal to produce games based on Universal and Ice Age director Chris Meledandri’s upcoming 3D CG animated film Despicable Me.
The film centers on Gru, a comic super villain who is planning to steal the moon from his secret suburban hideout. Along the way, he’ll end up befriending a trio of abandoned orphan girls. Presumably, hilarity and Valuable Life Lessons ensue. In the film, Gru is voiced by The Office and 40 Year Old Virgin star Steve Carrel.
D3Publisher promises that the game will feature Gru’s arsenal of weapons, gadgets, and vehicles, as well allowing the player to solve puzzles and control his loyal yellow minions.
D3’s Despicable Me games will release for home consoles and handhelds in July 2010, in time for the film’s July 9th debut in theaters.
