Dead Rising 2 Multiplayer Detailed
Not much has been revealed about the plot or multiplayer of Dead Rising 2 up to this point, but that’s about to change. Prepare yourself for a big dose of reality. It turns out that new protagonist Chuck Greene is a contestant on a reality TV show called “Terror is Reality,” which pits human versus zombies in an American Gladiator-esque arena.
The first Dead Rising managed to offer good, “clean,” zombie killing fun, without ever taking itself too seriously. It’s looking like Dead Rising 2 will be taking this philosophy to new heights, as the multiplayer modes in Terror is Reality are truly preposterous.
So far only four-player game modes have been shown, but Capcom isn’t saying that four the magic number. Players dressed in red, green, blue, and yellow will compete against one another for cash in a plethora of undead-smearing modes. “Ramster Ball” has players crushing the walking dead pinball-style inside giant, steel hamster balls. “Headache” pits contestants against droves of zombies with an ample supply of “hats” to adorn them with. Also, the hats are actually blender-hats. “Pounds of Flesh” has players use a moose-horned helmet to shove zombies onto a giant scale. And finally, “Slidecycles” features the notorious chainsaw-motorcycle from the first trailer, with players driving through crowds of ghouls to rack up dough.
It hasn’t been revealed how exactly the Terror is Reality multiplayer will fit into the single-player Dead Rising 2 experience. Even if the multiplayer matches described above don’t fit into the campaign at all, would anyone be complaining? Blender-hats.
