Mario Tennis Fever
Like Mario Kart, the Mario Tennis franchise has become a staple for every new Nintendo platform and a stalwart representative of video games’ most enduring genre. The first video game was Tennis for Two in 1958, after all. The next entry for Switch 2 doesn’t rethink the basics, but adds lots of new modes, characters, rackets, and mechanics.
The word Fever in the title represents new Fever Rackets. There are 30 available Fever Rackets, and each has a unique ability that can be charged with rallies to deploy Fever Shots over the course of a match. The Ice Racket, for example, will freeze the court to make it slippery, but you can also shrink your opponents or duplicate yourself, amongst many other abilities.
