Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted

The Plants vs. Zombies franchise is a surprisingly flexible one. Many young players in 2025 likely know the vegetation and undead property for its online multiplayer shooter game, Garden Warfare, but its roots (apologies for the pun) lie in the casual tower defense genre. Originally released in 2009 on PC (and, later, nearly every other video game platform known to man), Replanted is a 4K remake of the original game that will finally bring it to where it always belonged: Nintendo Switch.

“When we were first putting this project together –  and this isn’t to say we were exclusively interested in Switch – but Switch is definitely a form factor that could make a lot of sense on it.” Nick Reinhart, PopCap Studios general manager, says. “It seems to really fit the platform,” executive producer Jake Neri adds.
