Angela Sant'Albano, The Voice Of Grace In Resident Evil Requiem, Will Replace Jennifer English's Role In Tides Of Annihilation
Tides of Annihilation is an upcoming stylish action game that we got to play in China a few weeks ago. The first trailers were fascinating, but the element that caught most people's attention was its lead role. Gwendolyn, the protagonist, was voiced by Jennifer English, an actress who took the gaming world by storm with her roles as Shadowheart in Baldur's Gate 3 and Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. However, a few weeks ago, she revealed she would be stepping away from the role due to health reasons. The decision was very surprising, the developers told us, but the studio was eager to let English prioritize her health.
Until now, however, we didn't know who would be replacing Gwendolyn in this role, but we expected to find out during Gamescom's Opening Night Live stream. As of a few minutes ago, we know for sure: Angela Sant'Albano, the voice of Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem, is officially taking over Jennifer English's leading role. You can hear her take on the character in the new trailer below:
Based on that trailer and the fact that Grace Ashcroft is one of the year's best performances, Sant'Albano should be a suitable replacement. Actress aside, we're looking forward to the game's full release. In his recent hands-on preview, senior associate editor Wesley LeBlanc wrote, "Two hours is not enough to know whether Tides of Annihilation will be as good as the character action games it’s clearly inspired by, but it is enough to know that I want to play more (ideally, sooner than later)."
Tides of Annihilation has no release window, but when it does drop, it's coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
