Molasses Flood, a small team made up of former BioShock, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Halo developers, is about to embark on its first adventure. The studio’s Kickstarted game, The Flame in the Flood, will be out in just a couple of weeks.

This spin on the rogue-lite formula takes place in what the developers call “post-societal” America. That translates roughly to “everything has gone to heck, and you’re on your own.”

Well, you’re not quite alone. You have your trusty canine companion, Aesop. The two of you will need to brave the elements and hostile wildlife in order to survive.

A new trailer (above) demonstrates some of the hazards you’ll encounter and how to combat them. It seems that an item that could save you one moment might invite danger the next.
