Star Wars: Battlefront
Like a titanic AT-AT walker lumbering towards the Rebel base on Hoth, Star Wars Battlefront’s release looms on the horizon. Now a new interactive website lets future players journey to the game’s planetary battlefields early.
Upon loading up the Star Wars Planets Experience, users can journey to Endor (which technically isn’t a planet, but whatever), Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust. Once loaded, your camera zooms through raging battles on each world, slowing to a standstill to launch informative pop-up icons. Clicking these will teach would-be galactic solders about weapons, landmarks, class types, vehicles, and more. Recruits can come away knowing everything from the difference between an Impact Grenade and Thermal Detonator, to the drawbacks of the Jawa’s retro-fitted CA-87 Blasters.
Though the website lagged and froze for me at times, it still provided an immersive look at the shooter's battlegrounds and mechanics. Star Wars Battlefront comes out November 17.
