Sonic Generations

Sega has sent along a trailer showing off three levels from Sonic's Dreamcast adventures as they appear in the upcoming Sonic Generations. But who is this mysterious black hedgehog who appears at the end? Could Sonic have some kind of evil hedgehog rival? The suspense is killing me.

In lieu of further snark about Sonic Adventure (which I am weirdly a defender of; not sure how that happened), allow me to present to you a selection of lyrics to the rock song that accompanies Sonic's flight from the semi truck with GUN emblazoned on its grill. I assure you, these words are entirely from memory. Just seeing that sequence has had this stuck in my head for the last half hour:

Rolling around at the speed of sound
I've got places to go, gotta follow my rainbow!
Can't stick around, have to keep movin' on
Guess what lies ahead, only one way to find out

Now that's some poetry that speaks to the soul. Can't get that from the Genesis-era levels, no sir. Sonic Generations comes out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and 3DS on November 1.
