Halo: Spartan Strike
Microsoft’s newest Spartan adventure is no longer missing in action.
Originally announced for December 2014, the top-down shooter went dark shortly before its planned holiday launch thanks to The Master Chief collection’s multiplayer falling apart at the seams. After months of attempting to reign in the mega-pack’s matchmaking woes, Spartan Strike is finally getting its spot in the limelight.
Halo: Spartan Strike puts players in the shoes of a Spartan on New Mombasa during the events of Halo 2. Like its predecessor, the game sends players out on missions in the vein of the standard Halo games. Microsoft is claiming that it has improved touch controls for Spartan Strike, and that the Windows 8 version of the game is going to include weekly challenges similar to recent entries in the series.
Halo: Spartan Strike is available now for $5.99 on Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iOS devices, and Steam.
