Disney Infinity 3.0

We've had a lot of Disney Infinity 3.0 love with our recent cover story complemented by our month long of online coverage. Disney is finally ready to talk about some of the new play sets. Three play sets centered on Star Wars are scheduled to release later this year. Today, Disney Interactive has unveiled new screens of its upcoming Star Wars: Twilight of The Republic play set. Here's what you can expect from the set.

Travel To Cool Planets
This set takes place during the latter years of Clone Wars when Anakin is at the height of his Jedi powers. Your quest has you visiting four distinct planets, traveling to the open worlds of Tattooine, Geonosis, Naboo, and Coruscant. You must join Yoda, Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, and Obi-wan Kenobi to take down the Separatists.

Ninja Theory Did The Cool Lightsaber Combat
Ninja Theory has earned a reputation for its stellar, fast-paced combat in games, as seen in the DmC reboot and Heavenly Sword. Now the developer is lending its skills to Disney Infinity to improve the melee combat. Get ready to battle droids, use the force, and show off your lightsaber skills. You'll need to perfect them if you want to stand a chance in the boss battle against Darth Maul. Every Jedi has its own unique Force abilities and finishing moves. Yoda is an agile fighter with acrobatic skills, while Ahsoka has super fast dual lightsabers. You can also use Force push and Force pull to manipulate foes. Ninja Theory even added aerial combat to the mix. As expected, the real fun is using your lightsaber to chain up combos, deflect attacks, and slice enemies in half. Ninja Theory said its goal was to make players walk away and feel like the "most badass Jedi master ever."  Over 20 different enemy types are at your lightsaber-slashing pleasure.

Jar Jar Makes An Appearance
Disney confirmed Jar Jar Binks would make an appearance in Twilight of the Republic. Enough said.

It's Included In The Starter Pack
As long as you buy the starter pack, you'll have access to Twilight of The Republic. The starter pack is available this fall for $64.99. In addition to the Disney Infinity 3.0 base, the characters that come with it are Ashoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker. If you buy any additional Star Wars characters, they will also be compatible with the base and the Toy Box. As will all previously purchased Disney Infinity characters.
