Asura's Wrath

Am I wrong, or is the above screenshot of Asura inspecting blood on his hands a nod to the classic Barry Burton line from the original Resident Evil? One thing that's for certain is that it's Chris' blood on Asura's hands, but rather the spilled life force of the assassinated emperor.
