New Shazam Trailer Shows A Hero In Training
The newest hero in DC's "Extended Universe" of films is only 15 years old and has no idea what he's doing. The growing pains he undergoes will hopefully be much to theatergoers' delight. Shazam releases on April 5, and the latest trailer makes it look a silly origin story that will eventually give way to darker tones. The trailer focuses heavily on Shazam (Zachary Levi) getting to know his powers as he goofs off with his best friend. This lengthy video also gives us a good look at Dr. Sivana (Mark Strong), a villain who clearly has no time for kid games.
Following the enjoyable Aquaman film, let's hope DC gets on a roll similar to Marvel with its other character-based movies. Shazam is directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) with a screenplay by Henry Gayden (Earth to Echo).
