A Peek Behind The Cover
How does Game Informer decide covers? – C1p0te via X
This may not be a big surprise, but the number one reason we put a game on our cover is because we’re excited for it and want to share with our readers why they might want to have it on their radar, as well. In fact, that’s one of our guiding philosophies for Game Informer as a whole: We want to help you find your next favorite game, and our cover stories do a lot of that lifting.
But us being excited about a game isn’t enough: We also need to work with the developer to get our hands on the game and learn new details about it so that we can convey some new, exclusive information to you, the reader. Sometimes, games we’re extremely excited about launch before that can happen, but rest assured that if there’s an exciting game on the horizon, we’re doing everything we can to explore it as a potential option for the cover of an upcoming issue of Game Informer.
