Jurassic World Evolution 2 Announced By Jeff Goldblum

by Jason Guisao on Jun 10, 2021 at 01:34 PM

The legendary Jurassic Park actor, Jeff Goldblum, took to the virtual stage of the Summer Games Fest to present the next chapter in the Jurassic World Evolution simulator franchise. The footage shown was particularly short, but the classic Jurassic Park fanfare made a rapturous appearance alongside dinosaurs grazing in open prairies, ancient amphibious creatures swimming in deep waters, and a monstrous foot (likely a hulking tyrannosaurus). Titled Jurassic World Evolution 2, we’ll likely have to wait for gameplay trailers to drop throughout the rest of the year.

Dan Tack wasn’t particularly impressed with the first game, concluding his review by saying: “Jurassic World Evolution is a mixed experience, at times reveling in its fantasy and becoming bogged down in its own systems in others. If you’re a fan of the franchise it’s a fun dip into the prehistoric pool, but the water isn’t deep enough to satisfy a voracious carnivore.”

The Jurassic World Evolution games are known for wacky encounters with dinosaurs and park visitors, repairing structures and acquiring food to keep your ferocious pets satisfied. Hilariously enough, incidents can lead to lawsuits and can affect your income in negative ways. The Return to Jurassic Park expansion added in a plethora of story missions that focused on how to fix the problems from the titular movie.  Brian Shea got a chance to try out the expansion, and enjoyed, “I was able to play through Mission 1 and Mission 6 to get an idea of what players will be tasked to do in order to try and fix Jurassic Park. Each mission starts with voiced dialogue between the main characters from the films. While we heard Goldblum step back into the role of Ian Malcolm in the base game, hearing him go back and forth with Dern and Neill's characters is a treat.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 launches at some point this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
