If you've been following E3 leaks, you probably heard that Ninja Theory is making a multiplayer brawler. That info turned out to be correct, as Ninja Theory took to the stage at Microsoft's E3 presentation to unveil Bleeding Edge.
The previous details (and leaked trailer) were legit: Bleeding Edge is a 4-versus-4 multiplayer brawler. It has a variety of strange and colorful heroes who fight it out in close quarters with different powers.
While the focus on melee combat makes sense for the minds behind titles like Heavenly Sword, DmC Devil May Cry, and Hellblade, the multiplayer element is a shift for a studio that has generally focused on single-player experiences. However, Ninja Theory has demonstrated its ability to move between genres and succeed with risky projects, so don't write off Bleeding Edge just yet. In fact, you should be able to try the game for yourself soon, since a technical alpha begins on June 27.
