Fortnite's Limited Time Jetpack Event Disabled Shortly After Launch

Epic Games disabled Fortnite's Close Encounters event about an hour after it launched. Epic announced the event's shutdown via Fortnite's official Twitter.

Due to an issue with Close Encounters, we’ve had to disable this LTM while we investigate.

In the meantime, we’ve enabled Solid Gold.

Epic did not specify the issue, but according to Polygon, players on the game's subreddit reported various issues with the mode.

In the Close Encounter event, jetpacks spawn frequently in chests and supply drops, and shotguns are the only weapons that spawn.
