Comcast Announces Bid To Acquire 21st Century Fox Assets, Countering Disney

Comcast is considering an all-cash offer to acquire portions of 21st Century Fox, countering Disney's $52.4 billion all-stock offer. Comcast has not announced the exact dollar amount of the offer, but it is believed to be "in the $60 billion range," according to Deadline.

If Fox accepts Comcast's offer, it would put properties such as X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool under Comcast's control, keeping them out of Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Our Take
I was looking forward to seeing how Disney would incorporate the X-Men and Deadpool into the MCU, so this is certainly a surprise. We'll have to wait and see if Disney counters back.
