Weekend Warrior – Kamurocho Dreams
It's the weekend! We're all hard at work bringing you the best coverage out there, but we also need to get some well-deserved rest.
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze came out today, so if you missed that game on Wii U, Kyle says you definitely shouldn't miss it this time. A lot of people are catching up on Avengers this week and buying tickets for Solo coming up in just a few weeks. There's free weekends for For Honor, Call of Duty: WWII, and XCOM 2, so there's no reason to be bored.
Let's check in with what the Game Informer crew has going on this weekend.
Andrew Reiner (@Andrew_Reiner) – I’m playing through Ni no Kuni: Revenant Kingdom with the family, and then will be getting my Fortnite and Overwatch on! Enjoying the hell out of both of these competitive experiences, but Overwatch is still my go-to game.
Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – Now that I’ve wrapped up God of War, I’m lost in a fog of what do play next. I appreciate Yakuza 6… but I don’t know if I want to keep playing it. I’m excited to finish off A Way Out, but I don’t think my co-op buddy will have time this weekend… Help me, Game Informer community. What should I play?
Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I've been nursing a sick kid the past two days (curse you strep throat!) so I will be doing my best to continue that, and avoid the sickness myself. I saw credits on God of War, but I keep returning to it even after saying, "That was great! But I don't think I need to do all that extra stuff." I am going through the same mind games with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch, too. It's nice in Minnesota so as long as everyone's health is acceptable, I think we will try to leave the house. Maybe play some Pokémon Go or something, which yes, I am still playing and enjoying.
Suriel Vasquez (@SurielVazquez) – With God of War wrapped up I’m diving back into Yakuza 6 with a vengeance. All the side quests in that game have been great so far (Troublr quests less so), so I’m here for the long haul. This is also definitely the year to get into Witcher lore, so I’m reading the second short-story collection. Lastly, I’m a couple wins away from getting Techies to silver tier in Dota 2, and you know what that means: Unlocking their “Oh crap!” voice line to spam to everyone in the match, just like I’ve always wanted!
Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – I got through God of War this past week and absolutely loved it. I still have much to do in the God of War’s world post-game, but I also want to start Yakuza 6. I’ll play some Overwatch as usual, but I’m kind of taking a semi-hiatus in between the two events. Maybe I’ll even start Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch. I really enjoyed the Wii U version, so I’m excited to have an excuse to replay it.
Leo Vader (@leovader) – I’m moving this weekend so I might not have time to play anything! If I can, I’ll be trying to play either City of Brass or Fortnite squads! I think I’m a little late to the bandwagon but boy that game is really fun. Please check out Fortnite if you get the chance. Support them on Patreon.
Jeff Cork (@gijeff) – It’s going to be a busy one! First, I need to log into Diablo III to get my StarCraft pet now that the update has finally hit the PS4. Who am I kidding? I need to log into Diablo III to start a new seasonal character and lose more time in that unending time sink. If I manage to extricate myself from it, I’ll probably end up playing some Fortnite with my kids, since they love sharing all of their ProTips – most of them being variations on, “GO GET THAT GUY/STAY IN THE BUBBLE.”
Imran Khan (@imranzomg) – I just got an OLED, which I have been waiting for before I play more God of War. I've also had a weird urge to play Dark Souls III lately and realized I never beat Nameless King or did the DLC, so maybe I'll stream that. I got some big stuff you guys will find interesting coming up next week so I want to polish that up, too!
What about you, GI Community? Got anything fun going on this weekend?
