Valkyria Chronicles Coming To Switch In Japan

by Suriel Vazquez on Apr 15, 2018 at 12:01 PM

At its Sega Fes event in Japan, Sega announced it's bringing Valkyria Chronicles to Switch.

The acclaimed strategy title, which first released on PlayStation 3 in 2008, has seen a recent resurgence, with the game coming to PlayStation 4 and PC in recent years. The Switch release will be through the Nintendo's eShop.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is of course also in the works, and players who buy the Switch version will receive a discount if they also buy the original game on the eShop. Though no word on whether either of these announcements will happen Stateside, it's likely Valkyria Chronicles will also make its way to Switch here as well.

Our Take
I'm a big fan of the original Valkyria Chronicles and actually have the PC version, but I just haven't gotten around to replaying it. But its turn-based tactics are perfect for Nintendo's hybrid console, so I might just buy the game a third time.
