Watch This Speedrunner Play Two Punch-Out Games At Once Using One Controller
Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 set new records for charitable donations, but this run of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out might be the most memorable thing that happened over the weekend.
In this run, which was a donation incentive to encourage people to give more in order to see it, speedrunner Zallard1 used a specially-modified controller that sends inputs to the SNES and NES at the same time. Basically, whenever he presses a button on the controller, both Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out receive it as if there's nothing weird about it.
Zallard1 then proceeds to speedrun both games simultaneously, occasionally needing to pause in one game to super-punch in the other, but rarely keeping focus on just one title. It's a hell of an interesting thing to watch. You can find the video below and check out Zallard1's twitch channel here.
