ARMS Post-Launch Updates Have Ended
Nintendo has confirmed that post-launch support for its Switch fighting game ARMS has ended at Version 5.0 released yesterday.
The announcement came from Nintendo's update page, which, when translated reads as such: "As a major update, this one [the just released v.5 update] will be the last update. Of course, we will continue to adjust the game's balance in the future, so I hope you will continue to enjoy ARMS."
Nintendo pointed out that, since launch, the team has added five new fighters, twelve new weapons, and five new stages. The last few characters released, which include an African warrior, a robot version of Springman, and a villainous scientist, were all listed in a datamined leak, but several characters from the leak never made it out.
ARMS was released on June 16, you can find our review of the game right here.
Our Take
Post-launch support is ending a bit earlier than a lot of people expected, but considering the team is also responsible for the Mario Kart series, there is massive opportunity cost for keeping them on other games.
