Weekend Warrior – Zelda Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving

by Cody Mello-Klein on Dec 08, 2017 at 07:00 PM

This weekend we're all still playing our respective games of catch up. Jeff Cork is catching up on some teen angst, Brian Shea is exploring Egypt, and many of us are returning to Hyrule for the new Breath of the Wild DLC that Nintendo just dropped. Let us know what you're playing in the comments below!

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – I was playing Hollow Knight, and I am pretty close to the end, but man – Zelda DLC. I can’t say no. Sorry every other game I was playing. I will take a break, however, to celebrate my wife’s birthday.

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – I’m in the middle of my playthroughs of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Cuphead, so I’ll probably keep going with those. However, with Gen 3 coming to Pokémon Go, you can be sure I’ll spend some time out and about filling up my Pokédex once again.

Imran Khan (@imranzomg) – I’ll be in Anaheim this weekend covering the PlayStation Experience and am excited to play all the games there. Thankfully (or perhaps painfully), Nintendo released the Breath of the Wild DLC last night, so I am going to put some time in to that on my flight. I might also use some downtime this weekend to finish Splatoon 2’s single player.

Jeff Cork (@gijeff) – This weekend I’m going to focus on games about angsty young people. I finally got around to downloading Night in the Woods this morning, and I’m already hooked. After that, it’s Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Persona 5. While they do all feature shiftless young people, I can’t imagine three games that are any more different in presentation and narrative. Persona 5 apparently never, ever ends, but I’m hoping to see credits on the other two games. Whew!

Ben Hanson (@yozetty) – I’ll be doing a little travelling this weekend, so it’s a great opportunity to dive into Breath of the Wild’s DLC. I love the game, but wasn’t that into the first DLC package. I’m hoping this new one will reignite my burning love for that lil game. Have a good weekend!

Leo Vader (@leovader) – Pretty late to the game on this one, but Human: Fall Flat has been a blast with friends and I hope we get the time to play more. Streets of Rogue is another Steam indie gem I’ve been getting into lately. It’s a unique game that’s hard to boil down, but I’ll just say it’s a top down 2D roguelike where talking your way through encounters is a viable option, which is fascinating to me. You can also be a gorilla and punch scientists into mush. HAGS!

Matthew Kato (@mattkato) – I’d like to play some more Assassin’s Creed Origins – I’ve been getting through it in short bursts, but need to sit down and give it some concentrated time. I also haven’t played Life is Strange: Before the Storm yet, and I’d definitely like to tackle that soon.

Cody Mello-Klein (@Proelectioneer) – Do I want to ride a motorcycle through Hyrule? Is that even a question? This is my last Weekend Warrior, so thanks to everybody who read and enjoyed my stuff over the past few months. You guys have been the best!

Keenan McCall (@KEeNanMcCall525) – With Bayonetta 3 confirmed, I’m in the mood to go back and make my way through the first two entries. Otherwise, I’ll be getting in some last minute sight seeing before the internship ends. If anyone knows some good music venues or restaurants to check out in Minneapolis, hit me up.

George Ash (GeorgeEAsh) – Hey everyone, it’s the interns’ last weekend at Game Informer so go follow us on Twitter if you want to keep up with us from here on out. This weekend I’ll be hitting up Overwatch as always, but I’ll be checking out PUBG’s new map now that it’s released. Thanks for reading our work over the last few months and thanks to the GI editors for helping us improve our craft!
