Battlefront II, The Sims 4, And More Head To EA Access and Origin Access

by Keenan McCall on Oct 11, 2017 at 12:13 PM

Subscribers to EA's early access services have a new batch of titles on the way, with a couple of older titles also available free of charge.

In a blog post on the publisher's official site, EA announced upcoming titles Star Wars: Battlefront II, Need for Speed: Payback, and the Xbox One port of The Sims 4 are available before launch through EA Access and Origin Access between October and December. In addition, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dead Space 3 are available for free through both services.

Started in 2014 exclusively on Xbox One, EA Access offers a selection of the company's upcoming titles to subscribers as many as five days before launch for $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Other perks include free downloads of select titles published by the company, as well as a 10-percent discount on all digital content from the publisher. Origin Access launched a year later for PC, offering the same services and benefits for the same prices.

Our Take
Early access to Battlefront II will certainly sway a few people toward a subscription, especially with excitement for Episode VIII reaching a fever pitch. As for the new free games, it's nice to see the entirety of the Dead Space trilogy available through the service, and just in time for Halloween no less.
