Nintendo Of America President Says Demand Is Still Outpacing Supply

In an interview with Mashable, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime talks about how Nintendo has dramatically upped supply of products like the Switch, but demand is still outpacing supply.

Fils-Aime describes the Switch stock situation as Nintendo trying to do right by their customers.

"We actually sold through almost 2.8 million units, so we dramatically over delivered. And yet, demand outpaces supply," he said. "So what do some of the consumers on Reddit say? 'Gosh, Nintendo, if you would've made more you would've sold more.' Well, we did make more! And certainly we're on a pace to supply in the current fiscal year 10 million units."

It is true that Nintendo's initial projection for the Switch was only two million, but the NES Classic and seemingly the SNES Classic show that demand is habitually outpacing supply with their products. It seems like Switch supply might finally be catching up to demand, however, but it is difficult to tell how Nintendo will handle the console's first major holiday.
