"Dad Of Light," Netflix Drama Featuring Final Fantasy XIV, Releases Worldwide On September 1
Fans of Final Fantasy XIV might remember a strange announcement from last March when Square-Enix revealed a Netflix series titled Daddy of Light. Based on a true story, and now renamed Dad of Light, the series is about a father and son in Japan coming together over Square-Enix's popular MMORPG, and functions as a dramatic commercial for the game.
More The Wizard than The Spirits Within, Square-Enix is quite proud of this story of the parent and child rekindling their bond over Final Fantasy XIV. There have been other dramas, like the 2007 drama Reign Over Me, that use video games as a backdrop to tell a human story, so hopefully Dad of Light veers more in that direction.
Dad of Light premieres worldwide on September 1 in twenty-one different languages.
