PopCap Retires Paid Plants Vs. Zombies, Peggle Classic, And More

by Kimberley Wallace on Aug 18, 2017 at 03:45 PM

Today, PopCap announced plans to retire three of its games. Starting today, Plants vs. Zombies ( paid iOS, paid Andriod), Peggle Classic (iOS), and Solitaire Blitz (iOS) will be removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

In a message on Twitter, the company said: "PopCap has had a lot of fun bringing you these exciting experiences on mobile. We hope you enjoyed playing and that you'll try some of our other great games like Plants vs. Zombies (free), Plants vs. Zombies 2, and Bejeweled Blitz. You can continue playing Solitaire Blitz on Facebook. Thanks for playing!"

Our Take
PopCap must not see much value in continuing these games. At the very least, it's only the paid version of Plants vs. Zombies that is going away. It still says the free version will be available along with Plants vs. Zombies 2. Players also have the opportunity to still play Solitaire Blitz on Facebook.
