Thimbleweed Park Heading To Switch In September

by Matt Miller on Aug 09, 2017 at 11:57 AM

Update: Thimbleweed Park is is coming to PlayStation 4 on August 22 and Switch next month.

The Switch version of the game does not have a locked release date, but September is the expected timeframe. The Switch version of the game will support both Joy-Con and touch-screen controls.

Original story posted July 6, 2017:

Ron Gilbert took to Twitter early today with a not-so-cryptic hint about next steps for his adventure game, Thimbleweed Park. The tweet links to a YouTube video that clearly shows the game running on Nintendo Switch.

The tweet suggests we’ll have additional info next week, but until then, it’s safe to assume that the adventure game will release soon on at least the Switch, if not other consoles as well. Until now, the game has only been available on Xbox One and PC.

Thimbleweed Park released back in March, and our reviewer Elise Favis found it to be a great mix of nostalgic visuals and gameplay but with a modern twist. Check out her full review

Our Take
Thimbleweed Park should be an ideal fit for the Switch; the brief video does a good job of selling the potential for touch controls.
