After successful runs bringing games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, and Street Fighter V, TBS and esports franchise Eleague have set their sights on their next tournament target: Injustice 2.

Partnering with NetherRealm, The Injustice 2 World Championship Series will pit the game's greatest players against each other. To do that, Eleauge will be partnering with other Injustice 2 leagues in Latin America, North America, and Europe to qualify players for the World Championships, which act as the finale of the Injustice 2 Championship Series. The league will be live streamed online and have select matches broadcast on TBS Friday nights in October.

Eleague is currently working on sussing out the finer details of the tournament format, but is reaching out to the community to solicit feedback about the broadcast, and working with NetherRealm to find the community members who will make sure the tournament offers players something in line with what Injustice 2 players have come to expect from NetherRealm game tournaments. The company has not finalized how it will deal with mid-season patches (which are common in NetherRealm games), preferring to take a "wait and see" approach to the inroduction of new characters, changes, or aspects that could affect competitive play.
